Guitarist Jim Kalal has a global following of appreciative aficionados who enjoy his many diverse recordings. Jim has journeyed across the world, playing in Spain, Italy, France, England and Austria. Jim has studied with master guitarists, learned the songs of Spain from the Spaniards themselves and brought his music to audiences world-wide. Jim has serenaded listeners in romantic respites along the loose path of the fabled Orient Express. His melodies of the occidental journey evokes images ranging from whirling dervishes of Istanbul to the Romantic Road of Germany.

Jim's multifaceted talent flows into many dimensions of music. He founded the guitar program at Ohio's University of Akron and took masters classes from the father of classical guitar, Andrs Segovia. 

Jim's noteworthy performances include:

  • Menendez Festival, St. Augustine, Florida (attended by Juan Carlos and his wife Sofia, the King and Queen of Spain)

Jim has performed in three contrasting regions in France:

  • the Rhone-Alps: L' Abbaye de Talloires, a 9th century monastery (now hotel) in the French historic village of Talloires on Lac d'Annecy
  • the Cote d' Azur, the quaint fishing village of Giens on the Mediterranean Sea
  • the Province at Saint Remy, Hotel Domaine De Valmouriani
